Competition Shooting Matches currently include:


Air Pistol: .177 calibre pistols to fire lead pellets at targets 10m away, bulls eye has a 11.5mm 10-ring with entire target being 15cm across
Standard Pistol :.22 calibre semi automatic pistol /.22 calibre revolver 60 shot match with 4 series of 5 shots in150 seconds, 4 series of 5 shots in 20 seconds and 4 series of 5 shots in 10 seconds, shot over 25m
•Rapid Fire: .22 calibre semi automatic pistol /.22 revolver, two rounds of 30 shots (in six series of five shots each) fired at target 25m away, first two series must be completed within 8 seconds each; second two within 6 seconds each and last two within 4 seconds
•Centre Fire: .32 or .38 or .357 calibre revolver or 9mm semi automatic pistol, 60 shot match with 6 series of 5 shots in 5 minutes then 6 series of 5 shots where target faces competitor for 3 seconds where 1 shot is fired, target turns away for 7 seconds this process is repeated until 5 shots are fired in each series, shot over 25m.


• Service: uses ‘centre fire’ revolvers/semi automatic (.38, .357, 9mm calibre) to shoot 90 shots in various time sequences over four distances i.e. 50, 25, 10 and 7 yards. Also demonstrates ability to shoot from several shooting positions such as lying prone, sitting or kneeling, right and left hands side of a barricade, standing free, shooting double or single handed and, at 7 yards, instinctively unsighted.

•Service 25yds: as above but over 25yds and usually using a shorter barrel revolver or a semi-automatic 9mm pistol.

•50m & 25m Black Powder: cap and ball revolvers used in Aggregate Match while single shot handguns permitted in 50 Metre Match, calibre restricted to 0.46 maximum, projectiles must be round balls or conical pointed bullets. 

WA1500: Like Service this match is shot over distances of 7, 15, 25 and 50 yards using two hands from the positions of prone, sitting, kneeling, freestanding and from behind the left and right sides of barricades.

•Single Action: Single Action is a multifaceted discipline that uses original or replica firearms that were commonly used in the Old West period of 1800 to 1899. This includes single-action revolvers, lever-action and slide-action rifles and carbines, lever-action shotguns, and side-by-side shotguns. The targets are generally reactive and vary in shape and dimension.

I.P.S.C (practical):dynamic shooting match involving completion a number of stages with each stage different in the number in shot, Target placement and shooting positions, requires a balance of speed and accuracy, time taken to complete each stage is weighed against the sores achieved, vast majority of pistols used are semi automatic.
